About the Position

Senstar is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of “General Accountant” within the Finance Team.  The suitable individual will have a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle and a strong desire to be involved in the systems and processes of an established and growing organization. The individual will be dynamic and willing to “roll up their sleeves” to support the Finance Team in improving performance and efficiency. Exposure to all aspects of financial accounting is guaranteed!

Main Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Controller, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Daily processing of accounts payable invoices, expenses and account reconciliations
  • Communicating with and responding to vendor and customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Collection of overdue accounts receivable accounts
  • Posting of cash receipts to ERP system
  • Ensuring compliance of company requirements and policies
  • Account reconciliations
  • Assistance with year-end, quarter-end and month-end processes
  • Ad-hoc reports as requested by management
  • Preparation of bank deposits
  • Mail distribution and filing
  • Back-up for other positions during periods of absence and heavy workload.

Qualifications & Experience

The main qualifications for this role include:

  • 2 – 5 years previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous ERP experience considered an asset
  • Formal accounting education preferred (preference will be given to candidates with a relevant degree)
  • Solid knowledge of the accounting cycle
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Organized and detailed oriented
  • Strong initiative and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Strong working knowledge of MS-Office package and general computer software

  Location and Duration

  • This is a full time permanent role based out of Senstar’s office in Carp, Ontario, Canada
